Beaver safari in river Säveån
Jonsereds station, 433 76 Jonsered
Swedish
Wild beavers a quarter from town???
Join a beaver safari in Säveån!
We make our way through paddlandes in packrafts to get the best possible chance to see the swimming rodents.
The beaver is most active early morning and late evening. It is a very timid species, but in the late evening and early morning you can see them swimming in the surface of the water. Our beaver safaris therefore start in the evening to be in the right place when it starts to get dark.
We can meet beavers anywhere along our journey, but there are some areas where the chance of seeing them is greater. In these places, we lay down completely still to give them a chance to arrive. With binoculars, you can also watch from longer distances.
Nature rules no one and beavers are free creatures. Although we often see beavers in Säveån, it is not guaranteed that you will see the animals on every trip. On the other hand, we will certainly see traces of their rampage and learn more about how they live and both influence and are influenced by us humans.
